The Ministry of the Environment should not license new wind farms in Natura areas in order to adequately protect natural ecosystems and endangered species. According to a new study from the University of Ioannina, wind turbines already in various stages of licensing for areas outside Natura are enough to exceed two to three times the national target for 2030. However, licensing is currently pending. for an additional 5,514 wind turbines in protected areas.
