Last Tuesday, the government passed a new law on environmental protection, which unfortunately, despite some positive provisions, is totally unable to serve its purpose. The law passed is causing significant environmental setbacks.

Written with great ambiguity and with many cryptographic provisions, it is not at all certain that it will ultimately provide any legal security for both the need for environmental protection and for investors. The only sure thing is that it treats the environmental licensing system as a barrier to growth and not as a guarantee for a healthy environment, healthy people and sustainable investment growth.
