Information meeting in Keramato 22 May against wind parks

With the slogan “NO to Industrial Wind Farms on Kythira,” the Citizens’ Movement of Kythira “Dynamo Kythira” invites residents and friends of the island to a new information meeting, which will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 19:30 in Keramoto, at the Leontsio Cultural Center.

The gathering is part of a broader awareness and resistance campaign against plans to install three high-power industrial wind farms in the northern and northwestern parts of the island. As the Movement points out, the stations are planned to be located in Natura 2000 areas, with serious impacts on the environment, cultural heritage, and character of Kythira.

The meeting in Keramoto follows previous successful information events held in Potamos, Logothetianika, and Kastrisianika, with the participation of citizens and local stakeholders and the collection of over 1,000 signatures against the Environmental Impact Assessment of the project.

The Movement’s message is clear: “The island united claims its rights. The only lost battle is the one never fought.”
